Are teachers protected in court?

Next month I will be involved in a court case involving my parents' custody of me (I'm 14) because my mom wants me to move to Vermont from New Jersey with her. I feel very strongly about NOT moving and there is a teacher in my school that knows a lot about the reasons why I don't want to go. The court won't listen to me entirely because I am a minor and my mom claims I am manipulated by my dad anyways. I have asked this teacher several times if she would witness for me because she is one of the few neutral adults who knows about the situation. At first she was afraid that if her testimony was any help, my mom would sue her. I asked my dad about that and he said the court would protect her from being sued. I asked her again and she then went to ask the principle off my school what he thought she should do. He advised her not to get involved. She told me that she wished she could help but was afraid of getting fired. What are teachers allowed to do? Is she legally able to help me?
