HELP ME MY IPOD NEEDS HELP!!!!?

OK so my ipod froze up! i tried lookin up how to fix it! it said hold the top black button n the home button together for 6-10 seconds, but that didnt work. it also said connect it to the computer n do the =same thing. but that didnt work either. so i kept tryin to reset it by holdin the home button and top lock button, but then i tried connecting it again an dnow its sayin it wont connect cuz an error occured. so now i dont know what to do!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
