Is this all it takes to becominhg a Muslim?

That's what I did year ago, well a year and a week ago to be exact. The sister I talked to before I took my Shahada told me to read some books first before taking my Shahada so I understood and agreed. I feel bad though I didn't read the books until after I reverted. :-) but the Shahada has to be heart felt and really what you mean or the words are just words.
